LED Aisle, Step & Linear Feature Lighting

SAFETY

Step and aisle lighting is primarily used for safety reasons. Decor Aisle & Step Lighting clearly defines steps and walkways in dimly lit interiors. The risk of trip and fall accidents is increased by poor lighting and in today’s litigious society, making buildings as safe as possible for the general public becomes a priority.

In addition to providing illumination, the PVC-u and aluminium profiles protect the edge of the floor covering, both on steps and walkways, thus reducing wear and preventing a trip hazard caused by damaged floor coverings. The slip resistant inserts used in the stair edging profiles also help to prevent slip accidents.

INSTALLATION

The Decor system is modular in design and has been developed to be both quick and simple to install. The low voltage of the system also makes it safe to handle.

LIFE CYCLE

The LEDs used in the Decor system offer low power consumption over the lifetime of the products, and maintenance is kept to a minimum. The LED strips are highly durable and last over 100,000 hours - giving over 10 years continuous usage. In addition, the modularity of the system means that repair work is simple as the LED strips are easily replaced if damaged.

The Decor LED system uses state of the art semiconductor technology to offer a virtually maintenance free product based on ultra-bright, surface mount LED's, which has the added advantage of consuming very little power (less than 0.5 watts per metre for the 200 mm system).

Available in a wide range of colours and spacings, Decor LED’s find many applications throughout the leisure industry, both inside and outside. For external use, factory assembled units must be specified.

The system, which is housed in polycarbonate tube, consists of modules of 3 and 6 LED’s which clip together. Precise lengths of lighting can be achieved by cutting either one or two LED’s off a six LED module and adding the appropriate compensating resistor.

Multi-colour LED's are also available, giving the option of colour change from green to yellow/orange to red. This option must be powered by a Decor switch pack DD4/SWPACK/-) to give the options of a gradual colour change or of individual colour selection.

The modules require a 24 volt DC supply, and each module consumes a maximum of 25 ma. single colour, 50 ma. multi-colour.

Decor products are particularly suitable for the cinema auditorium. Step and aisle edges are safely highlighted without raising the ambient light level excessively.

FEATURE LIGHTING

Although primarily designed for illuminating and marking steps and aisles, the Decor system can be used to create stunning features or highlight aspects of an area.
